GTA 6 phone codes
Nobody knows yet. GTA IV used phone numbers. GTA V switched to controller sequences and dropped the phone system entirely. GTA 6 could go either way — or ship a menu instead of both.
GTA IV — 2008
Phone numbers only. You dialled a number, the cheat fired. No button strings at all.
GTA V — 2013
Controller sequences, entered in about five seconds. The phone became a story device, not a cheat device.
GTA 6 — 2026
Unconfirmed. Every sequence on this site is written so it works under either entry method.
Why the phone system disappeared
The phone was GTA IV’s signature interface — calls, camera, multiplayer, cheats all in one device. By GTA V the phone became a character-driven story object with a real contact list, and putting cheats in it would have broken the fiction. The studio moved codes to raw button input instead, which is faster and works without opening a menu.
GTA 6 has an even more prominent in-world phone, judging by the trailers. That cuts both ways: a phone-based cheat menu would fit the fiction better than ever, and would also be the most visible place to hide one.
How to enter codes either way
- If sequences: tap the full string in about five seconds, in story mode. See PS5 or Xbox.
- If numbers: open the in-game phone, dial the number, then wait for the call to connect. Do not hang up early — the cheat fires on connection.
- If a menu: it will live in the pause menu, likely under a “Cheats” or “Extras” tab. We will document it within an hour of finding it.
What we will do on launch day
Every page on this site gets rewritten around whichever method GTA 6 actually ships. If it is phone numbers, the tables gain a dial string column. If it is a menu, the sequence column becomes a menu path. The URLs stay the same either way.
Try the method that exists today
22 codes, both consoles, written as button pictures so timing is the only variable.
Do not trust a phone-number list today
Any site publishing “GTA 6 phone codes” right now is inventing numbers. There is no build, so there is nothing to dial.
Phone codes — quick answers
Can you enter GTA 6 cheats by dialling a phone number?
Unknown until launch. GTA IV used phone numbers, GTA V replaced them with controller sequences, and GTA 6 has not shown either system publicly. We list both methods so you can try whichever the game ships with.
What was the most famous GTA phone code?
In GTA IV the number-based system was the whole interface — you dialled a number on the in-game phone and the cheat activated. The pattern stuck in players’ memory even after GTA V dropped it.
Do phone codes work in Online?
No. Cheat entry has never been available in GTA Online in any form, phone or controller.
