The five-second rule
Every GTA code since IV has an input window of roughly five seconds from the first button. There is no on-screen timer and no error sound — a failed attempt looks exactly like a successful one until you check whether the effect landed. Practise on a code with a visible result, like change weather.

How do you type cheat codes on PS5?
GTA V used the in-game phone or a controller sequence. On PS5 the face buttons keep the PlayStation symbols: Triangle, Circle, Cross and Square, with L1/L2 and R1/R2 for the shoulders. Enter the full string inside about five seconds.
Why does my PS5 cheat code not work?
Three usual causes: you paused between buttons, you are in GTA Online rather than story mode, or you mixed up L2 and L1. Triggers and bumpers are easy to swap and the code fails silently when you do.
Do the codes work on PS5 Pro?
Button codes are handled by the game, not the hardware, so PS5 and PS5 Pro should behave identically. Same for the DualSense Edge — the paddles are not part of any sequence.
