The five-second rule
Every GTA code since IV has an input window of roughly five seconds from the first button. There is no on-screen timer and no error sound — a failed attempt looks exactly like a successful one until you check whether the effect landed. Practise on a code with a visible result, like change weather.

Xbox — quick answers
How do you enter cheat codes on Xbox?
In GTA V you either dialled a number on the in-game phone or tapped a controller sequence. On Xbox the mapping is Y for Triangle, B for Circle, A for Cross and X for Square, with LB/RB and LT/RT for the shoulders. The window is about five seconds.
Why is my Xbox cheat code not registering?
The most common cause is using LB where the code wants LT (or the reverse). Second most common: pausing mid-sequence. Third: standing in GTA Online. The code fails silently in all three cases.
Does this work on Xbox Series S?
Yes. Series S and Series X run the same build and the same input mapping. Only the graphics differ.
